General Information

Description of Service:

Infant & Toddler Connection of the Heartland serves the following counties: Amelia, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Nottoway, and Prince Edward. The first three years of a baby's life are very important. Infants and toddlers are learning to walk, talk, recognize people and do many other things. Some children develop at a different pace or in different ways than others. The Infant & Toddler Connection is a program that helps identify if any developmental delay exists and provides supports and services to address the delay. We provide services in the home or the natural environment of the child. Our services include speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and audiological and vision services. We provide assessment, family support, interpreter services, support groups and referral to outside agencies. Infants, birth through 3 years, with developmental delays are eligible for the services provided by this program. This only applies to children with mental and/or physical impairments that result in functional limitations. Longwood University serves as the local lead agency for implementation of the Part C program for families who live in planning district 14. Off street parking is provided and program is totally accessible for the handicapped.
